Entain partners up with Verizon Media to create VR platform
Entain and Verizon Media have recently joined forces in a partnership aimed to create an all-new VR sports betting experience for players.
Formerly known as GVC Holdings, Entain came up with this idea in order to provide fans with a real experience, allowing them to immerse themselves in stadiums. They will also be able to place bets on Entain platforms and connect with their friends who are also taking part in the experience.
Entain CEO Shay Segev has stated that this most recent move from his company is one that is securing them for the future. We should always be looking at the newest innovations to improve player experience since we have all of this technology made available to us. Entain and Verizon Media are achieving exactly that with this innovative idea.
The VR platform is going to integrate live sports with layers of data and gambling. Users will be able to check stats, view games and socialize on the platform.
Shay Segev said: “To win in the future we need to understand where consumers will be in five, ten years’ time and work with other global businesses also investing in that. We envisage consumers meeting at a game with friends, who could in fact be elsewhere, using virtual reality headsets to watch, interact and share the experience together and, potentially, compete between themselves at halftime or feel like they’re on the pitch with the players.”
