FanDuel announces termination of hundreds of jobs

FanDuel announced that it has undergone a round of layoffs, which is expected to cut hundreds of jobs from the company’s 5,000 employees.

The exact number of the terminations hasn’t been stated yet; however, it was revealed that staff members from multiple teams have been affected, including middle management roles, as well as sportsbook and casino department employees.

The Managing Director of Sportsbook, Karol Corcoran, wrote in an email:

“Within Sportsbook, we said goodbye to a number of talented teammates across the teams. While today is difficult, I remain very confident in the future of our Sportsbook business, the strength of our strategy, and the opportunities ahead of us.”

A FanDuel spokesperson additionally shared that the company has launched an organizational restructure to make sure that the operator is able to focus on capitalizing on future opportunities, while executives have stressed that the layoffs aren’t connected to financial concerns.

FanDuel’s SVP of Marketing, Ari Avishay, addressed his department:

“I want everyone to know that I am excited and energized about what we are going to accomplish together. I believe in this company. I believe in all you.”

Staff from business development, customer service, engineering, social media, and operations were also among those affected by the latest decision, which comes just 2 months after FanDuel TV and FanDuel Picks were shut down with 100 job cuts.

At the same time, after the layoffs were announced, parent company Flutter Entertainment saw its stock rise from $100.83 to over $119 between June 5 and June 10, 2026.
