In July, players wagered $476.9m in online and retail sports betting in Ohio, marking a 44% increase from last year but a 10% decrease from June 2024’s total of $529.8m.
Taxable revenue for the month reached $55.3m, representing a 48.7% rise from June and an 8% increase from July 2023. The state collected $11.1m in taxes at a 20% tax rate. Online revenue totalled $53.5m, with retail sportsbooks contributing $1.6m.
Year-to-date revenue through July stands at $492.7m. FanDuel led the Ohio market in revenue with $20.8m via a 15% hold on $139.4m in bets. DraftKings, despite a higher handle of $160.2m, generated $17.9m. Bet365 followed with $4.8m from $51.9m in wagers.
Other notable performers include BetMGM with $3.0m, ESPN Bet with $2.0m, Caesars with $1.9m, and Fanatics with $1.7m. Hollywood Columbus led retail sportsbooks with $388,858 in revenue.
