FanDuel Group announces launch of new sportsbook

FanDuel Group, the well-known gaming company, has debuted its sportsbook at Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel and Casino, in cooperation with Bally’s Corporation.

This launch marks the first capital improvement at the property after Bally’s purchase was completed in November. A temporary offering design and construction on a more permanent venue is ongoing. New York-based FanDuel will use its proprietary risk and trading technology that leverages the IGT Playsports platform in order to operate the sportsbook, which will be the firm’s first retail sports betting operation in Atlantic City.

The sportsbook is set to feature ten self-service IGT PlaySports betting kiosks, six live odds boards and three live betting windows, with attendants available to help customers out with the sports betting process.

A wide variety of betting products and services will be made available at the new site, as well as all major US sports including professional baseball, soccer, football, basketball, golf, boxing and motorsports, in conformity with all CDC and local health protocols and guidelines.

George Papanier, president and CEO of Bally’s Corporation, commented saying:

“We are very excited to announce the opening of the FanDuel Sportsbook at Bally’s AC. It is the first of many planned capital improvement projects at Bally’s Atlantic City and a testament to our commitment to reinvest in our physical property portfolio.

We are also looking forward to once again implementing the winning combination of Bally’s nationwide expertise in gaming and casino operations, with FanDuel’s market-leading sports betting acumen and globally recognised brand, to provide an unrivaled sportsbook experience for our loyal Atlantic City customers.”

Even though the current sportsbook is going to be launched on a temporary offer, Bally’s plans to open a more permanent location in early 2021, which will allegedly span 4,100 square feet and consist of 34 self-service IGT PlaySports betting kiosks, and five attended, live wagering windows.

Additionally, it will include a luxury 80-seat lounge with 30 reclining club chairs, oversized LED video walls, and a food and beverage menu including self-service craft beer.

Vice President of retail at the FanDuel Group, Keith Wall, stated: “We are excited to be one the first pieces of the capital improvement project at Bally’s Atlantic City Casino & Hotel. While we are eager to get up and running with our temporary sportsbook, we cannot wait until we open the permanent location and showcase to Atlantic City why FanDuel is the number one sportsbook in New Jersey.”
