FDJ reports strong 2024 amid Kindred acquisition

French lottery giant La Française des Jeux, FDJ, reported a strong 2024 with €3.065 billion in revenues.

When compared to 2023, this is an increase of 17%. The integration of Kindred, acquired by FDJ in October, was a key contributor to this rise. Revenue from gaming activities in France also grew by 6%, showing solid, organic growth despite market pressures. Additionally, FDJ’s EBITDA reached €792 million ($830 million), more than 21%.

Looking ahead, FDJ is preparing for the financial impact of a tax hike starting in July 2025, which could lower its revenue and EBITDA by up to €90 million ($94.31 million). To counter this, FDJ has launched a multi-year action plan, focusing on operational efficiencies, strategic investments, and better marketing to maintain its competitive edge.

While the gambling industry faces increasing regulatory scrutiny, FDJ’s strong brand, leadership, and proactive strategies should enable it to adapt and thrive in a more competitive market. The company is confident that these efforts will support its long-term growth despite the immediate challenges posed by higher taxes.
