It’s the first prohibition order the NPB has issued since Finland’s gambling law passed Parliament in 2025, with the order covering MagicPoro’s brands Pelikaani, Pelikioski, and Bigwin, and forcing the company to remove existing gambling marketing and stop creating new material. The order was dated August 31, 2026, and was set to take effect 30 days after notification and run for 12 months, with a possible one-year extension.
The case began in fall 2025 when MagicPoro missed the NPB’s December deadline to answer its questions, and later said its sites were not aimed at any specific country and that affiliates had been told to make content “completely country neutral.” In August 2026, police found substantial marketing still live, including two Pelikioski campaigns on the clipping platform Viralify, one with 27 clippers and about 96,500 views. Additionally, they also tied another site, Pottila, to MagicPoro.
If MagicPoro breaks the order, the €1.2 million fine becomes payable. The operator will also be added to Finland’s payment blocking register once the ban starts, which stops domestic payment providers from processing its bets, and police have also warned that the order could hurt its chances of getting a license in the new regulated market. MagicPoro declined to comment, and it’s unknown whether it has appealed.
