Flutter to acquire Brazilian brand Betnacional

With an estimated market share of approximately 7.3%, Betnacional is Brazil’s fifth-largest gambling operator, founded in August 2021. In the gaming world, especially in casino gambling and poker, Betnacional remains at the top. Recently, Betnacional has also been active in sports betting, aiming to capture Brazil’s football fans’ hearts.
This new move comes just in time, as Flutter makes a formal offer to acquire the brand. Earlier this year, Flutter’s CEO Peter Jackson addressed the company’s Brazilian strategy by marking Flutter’s launch into Brazil’s licensed gaming market. He noted that M&A could also play a role in the expanded growth in the region.
Many analysts show their optimistic point of view, noting that this new deal can bring significant cost and revenue synergies.
The acquisition of Betnaional is a huge step in Flutter’s expansion. By making such an acquisition before Brazil’s gaming policy implementation date next month, Flutter will be one step closer to cementing its position as a global leader in sports betting.
