The announcement of the latest appointment was made on October 6, 2026, when Allwyn shared that Ögren is set to develop the company’s technology strategy and support international growth in different markets. Additionally, Ögren will be reporting directly to group CEO Kresimir Spajic.

Ögren commented on his appointment:

Prior to taking up the Allwyn CTO position, Ögren spent 7 years at Betsson, with the latest role being Chief Technology Officer, while previously working in different director roles. Before starting his career in the industry, Ögren also worked at top Swedish newspapers like Expressen and Dagens Industri.
At the same time, Brett Cross, who served as interim CTO before Ögren’s appointment, will move into a newly created position as CTO of global lottery and deputy group CTO.
