GAN names Brian Chang permanent CFO

Brian Chang has been named permanent chief financial officer of GAN. He has spent roughly eighteen months filling the position on a temporary basis.

After Karen Flores resigned in November 2022, Chang took the role of interim CFO. He will now work in the position on a full-time basis.

Chang joined GAN in September 2021 and served as corporate controller and senior vice president prior to taking on his interim position. He worked at the medical company Edwards Lifesciences, held top finance positions at Alorica, and spent almost seven years at Deloitte before joining GAN.

David Goldberg, the chairman of GAN, expressed gratitude to Chang on his hiring and mentioned the board of directors’ support as well as his financial expertise.

The appointment of Chang is one of several managerial changes that GAN is implementing. Following the resignation of the chief executive officer Dermot Smurfit last year, longtime non-executive director Seamus McGill was named temporary CEO before taking over the position permanently last month.

With Chang’s appointment, GAN is getting closer to being purchased by Sega Sammy for 107.6 million dollars. In his position as chief financial officer, Chang will assist GAN with the acquisition. The agreement, which GAN shareholders approved in February, intends to help Sega Sammy’s aspirations to expand online gambling in the United States. Assuming all goes according to plan, GAN will become the surviving corporation after merging with Sega Sammy Creation.
