Gentoo Media CFO Mads Albrechtsen steps down
Mads Haugegaard Albrechtsen has confirmed his departure from Gentoo Media’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role.
Albrechtsen had joined the affiliate marketing company back in March 2025, helping Gentoo get back on track after its split from Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) in October 2024. At the time, Albrechtsen was responsible for leading the company through a strategic and operational transformation.
Gentoo Media CEO Jonas Warrer commented:
“We would like to thank Mads for his dedication and collaboration during a period of significant change for Gentoo Media. Mads has played an important role in the transformation initiated in 2025, including strengthening financial processes, supporting the company’s strategic realignment, and helping build a leaner and more focused organisation. As Gentoo Media now enters its next phase, we are maintaining a constructive dialogue regarding the upcoming transition and share a common commitment to ensuring a stable and responsible handover for the benefit of the Company, its employees, and other stakeholders.”
The CFO’s departure comes at a difficult time for Gentoo, as the company saw its revenue decline in the first quarter of 2026 and is now in the process of rebuilding its operations after cutting down its workforce.
Albrechtsen stated:
“I am grateful for the time I have spent at Gentoo Media and look forward to contributing to a smooth transition during the coming period.”
Gentoo shared that it’s already looking for a new CFO, and Albrechtsen is collaborating with the company to ensure a smooth transition.
Gentoo Media has posted its Q1 2026 results, revealing that the affiliate company’s quarterly revenue dropped by 5% to €24 million, compared to 2025’s €25.4 million.
