GeoComply will fund a new ICRG study researching the efficacy of self-exclusion initiatives.

The company’s research grant will be given to the International Centre of Responsible Gambling, which will be studying the effectiveness of self-exclusion programs used for gambling businesses operating in both the online and land-based verticals.

The research will be taking a look at a number of points of interest over the coming two years, such as the best forms of self-exclusion programs and the most ideal timeframes for gamblers to self-exclude.

It will also study the best and most frictionless methods of registering for such initiatives, touching a bit on the stigma around the term “self-exclusion”, and will research the optimal criteria for determining if a previously self-excluded gambler should be allowed to play again.

The Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of GeoComply, Anna Sainsbury, remarked:

“We are delighted to work with the ICRG to research self-exclusion programs. Since our inception over 10 years ago, we have been committed to responsible and safe gambling. The industry needs more data to enhance its various responsible gambling initiatives, which we are hoping this new study will provide plenty of.”

Lastly, GeoComply mentioned that the results of the study will be published in October of 2025.
