Germany targets ADI Predictstreet’s World Cup ads
Germany’s Gemeinsame Glücksspielbehörde der Länder (GGL) has launched an official review into ADI Predictstreet’s advertisements for World Cup 2026 in order to decide whether its campaigns violate German gambling laws.
The operator doesn’t have a German gambling license, so the regulatory body is in the process of assessing if its branding on pitch-side billboards during matches broadcast on German channels falls under local gambling rules or not. At the same time, authorities are analyzing whether Germans are able to access and use the platform.
For context, the operator first received a prediction market license in Gibraltar in late March 2026, after which FIFA entered the prediction market sector with a Predictstreet deal. Regarding Germany’s concerns, the company assured that it doesn’t target residents and all visibility is part of global sponsorships or media campaigns.
A spokesperson from ADI Predictstreet shared:
“We operate no marketing or advertising activities targeted at Germany.”
Predictstreet further stated that there is no ongoing campaign aimed at Germans, and any kind of promotional exposure comes only from international event inventory. Additionally, representatives from the German public broadcaster ZDF have shared that visuals are provided by hosting broadcasters, which means that local media doesn’t have any influence on advertising.
However, if the GGL finds any breaches, then the operator might receive a cease-and-desist order.
