On September 4, 2025, users across Eastern Europe faced a major disruption as several Google services went down, affecting internet users’ daily routines.

First reports were from Armenia, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Greece, with users sharing updates on websites like Downdetector and social media with hashtags like #Googledown #Googleoutage.

Impacted platforms

  • YouTube: Videos don’t load, and users are seeing errors or endless loading screens

  • Google Maps: Travelers and commuters are unable to load maps, search locations, or get directions.

  • Google Search: Many users can’t complete searches.

  • Gmail: Sending and receiving emails is inconsistent.

  • Google Drive: Access to cloud documents and files is disrupted.

“5xx server errors” indicate problems on Google’s end, not with personal internet connections.  Currently, there is no official statement from Google’s end.
