Great Canadian Gaming taken over by Apollo Global Management
Added:

Apollo Global Management has announced its acquisition of Great Canadian Gaming Corp. after receiving The Supreme Court of British Columbia’s approval. Only two out of the 26 gaming outlets operated by Great Canadian are open right now due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The decision was made not long after 79% of Great Canadian shareholders voted in favour of the merger, after Apollo’s increased offer of C$45 per share for a $1.96bn buyout.
Apollo had also expressed its significant interest in buying out UK sportsbook William Hill, however Caesars Entertainment had an advantage in the deal and William Hill was therefore bought by Caesars Entertainment towards the end of 2020.
