Greatness without pause: FC Barcelona Femení on the season
FC Barcelona Femení finished the 2025/26 season winning the Champions League and completing a second Quadruple with three domestic trophies. The team also claimed its seventh league title in a row and lifted the Copa de la Reina for the twelfth time.
More than 26,000 fans attended the Copa de la Reina final against Atlético Madrid in Gran Canaria, setting a new tournament attendance record. Clàudia Pina, Esmee Brugts, and Salma Paralluelo all scored before halftime, with Pina finding the net in her fourth straight Copa de la Reina final.
Record sixth final and victory in Oslo
Behind every win of the season, FC Barcelona Femení had its own story. In November, Aitana Bonmatí got injured and missed five months, but Barcelona still kept winning. When she came back for the Champions League semifinal against Bayern Munich, Barcelona won 5-3 on aggregate, with goals from Salma Paralluelo, Alexia Putellas, and Ewa Pajor, and reached a sixth straight Champions League final; the first women’s team ever to do it.
Then came the final in Oslo. Barcelona completely dominated Olympique Lyonnais Féminin and won 4-0. Pajor scored twice, Paralluelo added two more, and the game was basically over. Pajor finished the tournament with 11 goals in 10 matches and was named both MVP of the final and top scorer of the competition.
It was Barcelona’s fourth European title in six years, and five players: Cata Coll, Mapi León, Patri Guijarro, Putellas, and Pajor made the UWCL Team of the Season.
World’s best again and again
For the last five years, the Ballon d’Or Féminin has gone to FC Barcelona Femení players. Alexia Putellas won it twice, while Aitana Bonmatí won it three times. This year, Barcelona once again has several strong contenders.
Putellas finished the Champions League with 7 goals and 7 assists, Ewa Pajor scored in every knockout match, Caroline Graham Hansen recorded 10 assists in Liga F, and Clàudia Pina leads the league with 20 goals. The Ballon d’Or ceremony will take place on October 26 in Paris.
