Hard Rock Bet secures iGaming registration in Ontario
Hard Rock Bet has received an iGaming registration from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and is set to launch its sports betting and casino platform in the province.
The license was issued on May 14, 2026, and will be valid for exactly one year until May 14, 2027, making Ontario the operator’s first rollout in the Canadian market. Additionally, Hard Rock had launched its $350 million Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Ottawa back in 2025, marking its physical entrance into the country.
A spokesperson from Hard Rock commented:
“Ontario will allow Hard Rock Bet to connect its online offerings with the land-based experience in Ottawa.”
The operator is yet to launch its sports betting and iGaming app; however, no specific date has been announced. Hard Rock also has to establish a contract with iGaming Ontario’s separate agency, which is part of the regulatory process for the province.
The market entrance is part of Hard Rock’s goal of combining its physical and online offerings for maximum customer engagement, as the platform is expected to operate similarly to the brand’s U.S. model, with modern sportsbook technology and in-depth online casino offerings.
Ontario is currently the only province in Canada that has a competitive and regulated iGaming market with 44 operators and 76 websites, while Alberta’s market is scheduled to launch on July 13, 2026.
