Hard Rock executive Alex Pariente under investigation
Hard Rock International has suspended Alex Pariente, its corporate senior vice president of casino and hotel operations, following serious concerns about company policy violations.
Pariente is accused of multiple violations at Hard Rock’s Punta Cana property in the Dominican Republic. According to reports, he allowed a Chinese gambler to deposit large amounts of money without verifying the source of funds. He also mismanaged credit given to gamblers, failed to repay credit markers, and made questionable hiring decisions linked to junket operations.
After finding out, Hard Rock quickly took action. The company confirmed Pariente has been suspended without pay and emphasized that all team members are held to the highest standards and there is zero tolerance for policy violations.
The investigation may have been sparked by emails from R. J. Cipriani, also known as Robin Hood 702, a gambler and whistleblower. Cipriani has called for corrupt executives to be removed from the industry, pointing to other recent scandals.
The company has not said how long the investigation into Pariente will last or whether it could lead to permanent termination.
