Interview with Oleksandr – VP of Affiliates at Makeberry

AffPapa had the chance to talk to Makeberry Affiliates’ VP of Affiliates, Bizdev, and SEO, Oleksandr Kulyk. In this interview, Oleksandr spoke about Makeberry Affiliates’ services and goals and shared insights about the affiliate industry’s future.

Yeva: Makeberry Affiliates operates as an affiliate network in iGaming. If you had to explain what Makeberry actually does to someone new to the industry, how would you describe its role?

Makeberry Affiliates provides the infrastructure that allows affiliates and operators to scale faster, with lower costs and reduced risk.

Yeva: There’s no shortage of affiliate networks in iGaming right now. When operators or affiliates compare options, where do you think Makeberry Affiliates really wins?

Our edge is strong analytics combined with hands-on expertise, backed by in-house media buying. We work across key Tier 1 and Tier 2 GEOs and major paid sources, with our Facebook traffic recognized by partners as a market benchmark for quality.

Yeva: Operators often debate whether to build affiliate relationships in-house or work through a network. In your experience, when does working with Makeberry Affiliates make more sense?

Building an in-house affiliate team is costly and slow, but it gives you trust and tighter control over risk. Working with external partners is faster and more affordable, yet the risks tend to increase just as quickly. With Makeberry Affiliates, operators don’t have to face this dilemma, as we deliver cost-efficient growth while keeping risks to a minimum.

Yeva: What’s Makeberry Affiliates’ take on utilizing AI in affiliate networks and its effect on operational quality?

Right now, we use AI primarily in traffic analytics, for example, to spot patterns faster and flag anomalies more efficiently. We’re gradually integrating it into support processes, as well as market and offer analytics, which will help us better understand our partners and their performance.

Yeva: CPA, revenue share, hybrid models, everyone offers them on paper. In practice, how does Makeberry Affiliates handle deal structures, especially in markets with very different dynamics?

Of course, we have standard models in place, but we don’t treat them as rigid rules. We assess market dynamics, traffic quality, and commercial objectives, adjusting terms where needed. In the end, it’s about making sure the deal makes sense and works long-term for both sides.

Yeva: From what you’re seeing day to day, what’s changing fastest in the affiliate world right now, and what are people still underestimating?

The value of traffic sources is shifting rapidly, and the trust behind them is changing just as quickly. While the industry focuses on performance and quick returns, the brand often takes a back seat. And without strong brand credibility, performance simply doesn’t last.

Yeva: With networks growing, it can become hard to keep up with quality. How do you personally think about scaling the network without damaging traffic quality or partner trust?

Scaling traffic in a network isn’t the same as scaling in media buying. When you build it around a strong pool of carefully selected affiliates with proven approaches, growth doesn’t compromise quality or trust.

Yeva: Looking ahead a few years, what would make you say, “Yes, Makeberry Affiliates got it right”? What does success actually look like to you?

A more transparent market and a clearer understanding of what traffic is really worth. If we manage to move the conversation from volume to real value, we’ve done our job.
