Israeli casino owner Tony Bargig found dead in Prague
According to industry reports, Israeli businessman Tony Bargig, a 54-year-old casino owner living in Prague, was reportedly killed early Thursday morning on Seifertova Street in Prague 3.
The Czech police have not yet released official details about how Bargig died or whether any suspects have been identified. However, according to past reports, he was monitored for suspected continued involvement in the gambling world.
Bargig was well known in Israel and was once nicknamed the “King of Slot Machines” because of his involvement in the gambling industry. Before moving into business in Prague, he had been linked to several gambling operations in Israel.
Prosecutors alleged that he operated a network of around 15 illegal gambling venues between 2008 and 2014. He had also been convicted in earlier cases related to illegal casino activities and other criminal offenses.
Now, Tony Bargig’s death has drawn attention in Israeli media, with some comparing it to the 2002 killing of Israeli crime figure Felix Abutbul, who was also murdered in Prague.
Authorities in Prague continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
