KSA blocks Stake F1 team’s participation to Formula 1
The Dutch gambling authority requires the Sauber F1 team not to race in the Dutch Grand Prix under the name ”Stake F1“.
Being the independent administrative body, the supervisor and regulator of gambling services in the European part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, KSA requires Sauber Motorsport Engineering Company to not race in the Dutch Grand Prix under the name “Stake F1 Team” because it could be seen as illegal gambling advertising.
Stake has been cooperating with Formula 1 since February 2023.
Alessandro Alunni Bravi, a team representative, commented then on the partnership:
“2024 will be a new page and the chance to do more, better, and reach even farther. We are looking forward to an even more exciting calendar of events in this new season.”
Even though the operator does not have a license in the Netherlands, KSA still considers the future risks of illegal gambling and does not want illegal gambling to be advertised at a Dutch event with the reach and size of Formula 1.
The Stake F1 Team rebrand was announced in January and covers both the 2024 and 2025 campaigns.
