KSA warns operator over betting odds ads on Twitter

Dutch regulator KSA warned a Dutch operator over the advertisements of live football wagering odds displayed on Twitter.

The regulator preferred not to reveal the name of the operator.

The operator is accused of posting the progress of the score throughout a live match. The score analyses were posted with embedded links which led the users of Twitter to the websites of sports wagering operators. Users were informed about the chance of wagering on the operators’ parent account.

KSA reminded the operator about the illegality of wagering ads during sport matches. This rule aims to prevent the users from participating in gambling.

The regulator officially ordered the operator to stop its illegal performance and to ensure that betting odds will never be published again.

In case of breaking the rule again, the gambling authority will use stricter means of sanctions.

KSA had warned the customers over gambling with unlicensed websites in the previous month.
