Las Vegas Sands names Collin Morikawa ambassador

Las Vegas Sands has named Collin Morikawa, a six-time PGA Tour winner, as the company’s new champion ambassador.

Sands has donated $100,000 to the Maggie Hathaway Golf Course restoration project in Los Angeles, marking the beginning of their collaboration.

Morikawa, a native of Los Angeles and honorary chairman of FORE Youth: The 2023 US Open Community Legacy Campaign, has championed the golf course’s redevelopment into a junior golf development hub.

The project’s goal is to raise $15 million to renovate the nine-hole, par-three golf course, as well as its practice facility and accompanying facilities, while also ensuring long-term sustainability and youth development activities.

Morikawa will continue to help Sands through golf clinics aimed at promoting youth development and leadership qualities as part of the larger collaboration.

Sands and Morikawa, who share a commitment to community improvement, will collaborate on revitalization projects such as the LA golf course restoration project and Morikawa’s support for relief efforts following last year’s tragic wildfires in Hawaii.
