A licensed operator pays penalty for “misleading” advertisement as claims de Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), a gambling regulator in Dutch.

On a sport news website odds advertisement was displayed. According to gambling regulator, by pressing on the odds you appeared in operator’s website. It was not clear if the advertisement came from the operator. So, the ad was lead via the use of remote communications.

The licensed operator had 36 hours to remove the ad.It was one of ten operator that got gambling licenses from the regulator in September.In February 2019, the Remote Gambling Act was passed.

Though it implemented in June 2020 and March 2021 after which in April 2021 it became law.

That was a reason to delay online gambling shop launch. In October 2021 it was opened, but soon it faced another challenge when Cruks made a technical mistake. 

When the government of Dutch declared change in compulsion policy, many operators decided to ban clients from Dutch until receiving license from KSA. Kindred, Entain as well as Betsson were among them.

The government of Dutch welcomed this policy success after the data publication which let users to apply for licensed operators rather than choosing unlicensed ones.In the previous week, the regulator took measures against some websites which had ads of illegal online wagering.
