Merkur Group acquires White Hat Studios for US expansion
International gambling company Merkur Group has announced its acquisition of slot game provider White Hat Studios in an effort to expand its operations in the regulated U.S. market.
The company shared the news on July 14, 2026, committing to provide its expertise and resources for further strengthening White Hat Studio’s capabilities in slot development and omnichannel offering. The slot provider entered the market in 2021, quickly becoming one of the leaders in the U.S. market, and now includes an expanding slot collection, an award-winning game series, and its Jackpot Royale progressive network.
President of White Hat Studios, Andy Whitworth, commented:
“Joining Merkur Group is an exciting moment for everyone associated with White Hat Studios, and, fundamentally, it is the best possible move to realize our ambitions for future growth and product innovation. Working alongside the hugely experienced Merkur team will open new possibilities for us across iGaming and enhance our ability to develop a world-class omni-channel proposition that will benefit both operators and players.”
Additionally, the provider’s White Hat Gaming platform and white label businesses will remain under the existing ownership, as they were not part of the acquisition deal.

The transaction is now subject to regulatory approval before it officially comes into force.
