MGM extends Bill Hornbuckle’s CEO contract till 2028

MGM Resorts International has extended CEO and President Bill Hornbuckle’s contract through the end of 2028, securing his leadership for another four years.

The deal also includes an advisory role after his term, focusing on MGM’s future integrated resort project in Osaka, Japan, set to open in 2030.

MGM’s Board Chairman, Paul Salem, praised Hornbuckle:

“Bill is an exceptional, visionary leader who successfully guided the company through the COVID-19 pandemic while also positioning the business for long-term growth through new digital ventures, strategic M&A opportunities, and expansion into new international markets. Bill has earned the trust, respect, and admiration of his employees, peers, shareholders, and this Board.”

Hornbuckle, who took over as CEO in 2020, remains focused on expanding MGM’s footprint globally, with projects in New York, Japan, Brazil, and the Middle East.

Bill Hornbuckle also shared his excitement:

“Our best days remain in front of us, and I’m thankful to our Board for their continued trust and support.”

Under Hornbuckle’s leadership, MGM’s stock has seen a 106.61% increase over the past five years, leaving major industry names behind. Earlier this year, Bill Hornbuckle became the Chair of the US Travel Association, further showing his exceptional expertise.
