MGM unveils plans for enhanced NY establishment
MGM Resorts has recently published plans for an enhanced establishment in New York City.
The new plans outlined the company’s vision for updating one of its land-based gambling establishments in Yonkers, a suburb of New York City just over 20 kilometers away from Central Park. The plans, which will be implemented if the operator is granted a fully-featured commercial gambling establishment license, would update and greatly enhance the property of the Empire City Casino, with the updated establishment due to be called MGM Empire City.
One of the new plans’ key enhancements for the property will be a comprehensive redevelopment of the venue’s casino floor, which will shift the property’s focus from offering predominantly terminal-based experiences to a fully-featured retail casino business with a variety of table games and other sought-after experiences. This transition to a fully-featured commercial gambling establishment will also enable the operator to introduce its iGaming brand to local enthusiasts and visitors with a BetMGM Sportsbook and Lounge.
Furthermore, the updated property will also feature an expansive entertainment area that will be able to seat 5 thousand people for a variety of live performances. This, combined with the venue’s expanded list of dining destinations, will attract more tourists to the region, boosting its economy.
