Michigan iGaming surges to $198.6M record in May

With US$198.6 million in gross igaming income, Michigan recorded its second-highest amount of revenue to date.
This amount accounted for the largest portion of the $239.5 million in total revenue generated by online gaming in May. April’s $192.9 million in igaming revenue was surpassed by May’s $178.7 million in adjusted gross igaming revenue from the Wolverine State, a 2.6% increase from the previous month.
Gross betting revenues from sports betting increased by $40.9 million, and the adjusted amount of $28.1 million, up 1.2% from April, went toward the $206.8 million total annual growth rate.
The Michigan Gaming Control Board reported:
“Compared to a year ago, in May 2023, igaming AGR was up by 31.9 per cent and sports betting was up by 27.7 per cent.”
However, from $399.1 million in April to $343.7 million in May, the amount wagered on sports online fell by 13.9%.
