The letters were sent on October 8, 2026, to offshore operators including Basepoker, BingoMania, Cryptoplay, Donbet, Genie Jackpot, iWild Casino, and multiple others. The companies were found to have operated online casinos, sportsbooks, and sweepstakes in Michigan without the required state license.
Additionally, the board warned that companies legally offering gambling products in Michigan must provide users with voluntary self-exclusion options under the Internet Gaming and Sports Betting Responsible Gaming Database, but unlicensed platforms pose a risk as they remain available to self-excluded players.
MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams commented:
“Choosing to self-exclude is one of the hardest and most courageous decisions a person can make, and in Michigan’s legal market, that choice is respected. Offshore sites don’t respect it. They will take a deposit from someone who has asked for help, and the MGCB has no way to help that person get it back. These 33 letters put operators on notice that our residents are not an untapped market, and that anyone who thinks they can ignore our protections will hear from us.”
The regulatory body has also stressed that failure to comply with the cease-and-desist letters can result in additional enforcement action from the Michigan Department of Attorney General.
