Netherlands opens Gambling Harm Treatment Center

The Dutch Gambling Authority, KSA, announced the opening of a new support center by The Netherlands’ National Information Center for Gambling Players.

Funded by the Dutch Addiction Prevention Fund (VPF), which uses money from gambling operators to support harm-reduction initiatives, this center will not be just another clinic. It will be a safe place where people struggling with gambling harm will be able to share their experiences, seek guidance, and start their recovery journey.

It will offer personalized programs, workshops, and even opportunities to meet others who have successfully overcome similar struggles. If successful, more centers like this will be opened in the country.

Illegal gambling: still actual in the Netherlands

The Dutch gambling market keeps facing breaches from operators. Recently, Unibet faced another legal scandal in the Netherlands as a result of limiting players’ access to their account details. The opening of a new center is expected to support those in need and modify the market.
