New York breaks U.S. record with $24B in sports bets

Over the 2024-25 fiscal year, players in New York placed nearly $24 billion in sports bets, hitting the biggest number any US state has ever seen.

The $23.94 billion total with $2.14 billion in revenue is a significant increase when compared to last year’s $19.64 billion. FanDuel claims the crown with $9.2 billion in bets and almost $970 million in revenue. DraftKings comes next with $8.6 billion and $727.9 million in revenue. Caesars concludes the list of the top three with $1.45 billion in bets. Other major players like BetMGM, Fanatics, and Rush Street Interactive also posted solid numbers.

March 2025 ended things with a $2.44 billion bet, nearly matching January’s all-time high. For the first time since mobile betting launched in 2022, every single month of the year recorded more than $1 billion in wagers.

Beyond the bets, over $1.1 billion is being put to good use, supporting education, youth sports, and programs to help people affected by gambling.
