New York mobile sports betting hits $2.28B in December 2024
New York State posted its second-highest mobile sports betting handle in December 2024, reaching $2.28 billion.
This figure has gone up by 0.7% when compared to the November handle of $2.27 billion. The figures have come after the last record set in October 2024, where the state achieved its highest ever handle of $2.32 billion.
When compared to December 2023, which recorded a handle of $2.04 billion, December 2024 figures for mobile sports betting showed an impressive 11.7% increase.
While the handle figures are encouraging, revenue generated by mobile operators in December 2024 dropped significantly. Down to $150.4 million in revenue for December 2024, it is a big drop of 35.1% from the November figure, which was $231.6 million. Compared to December 2023, this also marked a 20.1% decline from $188.3 million in revenue.
Individual operator performance
FanDuel ranked as the top brand within the Empire State. Ahead of DraftKings, the mobile sports betting handle by FanDuel amounted to $925.6 million, with a corresponding revenue of $70.6 million. DraftKings followed closely, with a handle of $731.9 million and a revenue of $46.5 million.
