Online casinos fuel Denmark’s April revenue growth
Denmark’s gross gaming revenue increased by 11.5% year-on-year in April, with online casinos being the main growth factor.
As reported by Spillemyndigheden, Denmark’s gambling regulator:
- Online casino revenue increased by 21.6% in April, going from DKK273m (£31.3m) to DKK331m (£38m).
- Betting revenue saw a steady 6.1% increase, from DKK195m (£22.4m) to DKK207m (£23.7m).
However, some declines in revenue were also reported:
- For land-based casinos, GGR went down by 2.5%.
- For gaming machines, revenue dropped by 3.6%.
In total, Denmark’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) for April 2025 was DKK665 million (£76.3 million); a solid increase from DKK596 million (£68.3 million) recorded in April 2024.
