O’Reilly steps down from CEO position at Rank Group

Effective from January 29, 2026, John O’Reilly will step down from his CEO position at Rank Group after seven and a half years in the role, with Richard Harris being appointed as interim CEO.

Despite his departure, O’Reilly will remain to support the company until the end of the 2025-2026 financial year.

O’Reilly was appointed as CEO in April 2018 and led the company through times of strategic development and industry challenges, including COVID-19.

O’Reilly shared:

“It has been a privilege to lead Rank for the past seven and a half years, and I am proud of all that we have accomplished in that time. I am pleased that Richard will now take Rank to the next stage of what I am sure is a bright future, and wish the group every success.”

Harris, who was appointed as CFO in May 2022, will assume the interim CEO position from January 30, 2026.

The Chair of Rank Group, John H. Ott, announced:

“As interim CEO, the board is confident Richard Harris will provide both important continuity and the strategic leadership required to drive the performance of the business and maximise shareholder returns. The board and I look forward to continuing to work closely with him to realise those ambitions.”

Since joining the company, Harris has been an executive director of the board. Before Rank Group, he held the position of CFO at Foxton Group, as well as worked at Laird and M&S.
