Penn Entertainment opens new $100M hotel tower in Ohio
As part of its expansion strategy, Penn Entertainment has opened a new $100 million 203-room hotel tower at its Hollywood Casino Columbus in Ohio.
The venue consists of a 150,000-square-foot tower, featuring the Hill Eatery & Lounge restaurant and bar, conference rooms, an outdoor terrace, and a fitness center. Moreover, the company aims to add a high-limit table games room during Q3 2026 after receiving regulatory approval. It’s expected that 150 permanent jobs will be created as a result of the expansion.
Penn Entertainment’s CEO and President, Jay Snowden, commented:
“We’re delighted to officially open our new hotel in Columbus, which further positions us as the top entertainment destination in the region. This opening marks our third of four retail development projects to open in under a year, and we expect to follow this momentous day with the grand opening of our new casino in Aurora, Illinois, in less than two weeks.”
The official opening ceremony of the new tower was held on June 11, with special guests present at the event, as well as celebrations including fireworks, a Bret Michaels concert, and a 2026 Indian Motorcycle giveaway.
The company is planning to open the new Hollywood Casino Aurora on June 24, 2026, while the launch of a new land-based venue in Council Bluffs, Iowa is expected to happen in 2028.
