Playtech increases US Casino offering with new IGT licensing agreement

Global leader in iGaming software development Playtech has announced a brand new licensing deal with International Game Technology, who is one of the largest slot machine producers in the world. In this deal, Playtech will be able to provide games whose features are patented within IGT’s large US patent portfolio, which in turn makes them available all over regulated markets in the United States.

Through this newly-signed deal, Playtech will expand its presence and its casino offering all throughout North America. The agreement with IGT comes soon after Playtech acquired a license in the state of New Jersey and debuted with bet365 and BetMGM’s gaming network. According to the company, the deal displays Playtech’s vision to team up with leading companies and use its scale to improve its distribution capacity across North America.

In a comment on the new deal, Shimon Akad, Chief Operating Officer at Playtech, said: “the agreement with IGT represents another significant milestone in the growth of our presence in North America as we build on the momentum of the past few months.”

Akad also said that Playtech “looks forward to offering the US market more of our market-leading software and technology in what is a rapidly growing US market”.

IGT’s Chief Operating Officer Nick Khin stated that the company is “delighted to have reached an agreement to provide Playtech with access to the largest game feature patent portfolio in the US. Working in partnership with Playtech will help propel our collective innovation and growth, and further validates our significant IP portfolio.”
