Resorts World New York City has moved forward with its $5.5 billion expansion plan as the city’s first full-fledged casino with live table games that’s set to become the biggest integrated gaming resort in the United States.

The company announced the opening of a new gaming area with 1,400 slot machines as it prepares to conduct a groundbreaking ceremony on July 22, 2026, to celebrate the next stage of the expansion, as the resort will open a new hotel tower with 400 rooms and a 7,000-seat entertainment venue.

President of Genting Americas East, Robert DeSalvio, commented:

“Since the moment we opened, our slot machines have been incredibly popular with the public, generating more than $230 million in gross gaming revenue in just 11 weeks. With these 1,400 new games, we will be able to accommodate more patrons and generate even more in taxes for the state.”

By 2030, the company aims to expand the casino floor to 350,000 square feet, with the full gaming operation set to include 6,000 slot machines and 800 live table games. Additionally, the location will offer 2,000 hotel rooms in total and will have over 10 acres of public green space.

The second phase of the expansion near the former Aqueduct racetrack in Queens is scheduled to launch on July 29, 2026.
