SBC announces retail track for Canadian Gaming Summit

The forthcoming Canadian Gaming Summit event will take a deep dive into the retail vertical with a specialized track.

As the online gambling industry is continuing to scale rapidly, what does the future of retail gambling and wagering establishments look like? Along with covering the iGaming vertical, the forthcoming edition of the Canadian Gaming Summit will be taking a deep dive into the topic of the retail one as well with a dedicated track.

The track will be kicked off with a discussion on charitable gambling. The panelists, which will include professionals like OLG’s David Fraser and CGAO’s Peter McMahon, will talk about how charitable gambling organizations can maintain their relevance and how they can work with for-profit operators and regulatory bodies to expand in the country.

Following the first discussion and the day’s second networking break, a panel will be held covering the topic of technologies in the land-based gambling sector. Experts like Mohegan’s Rich Roberts and Light & Wonder’s Byron Bridger will discuss the expanding prevalence of new technologies in the vertical and will highlight some of Canada’s top firms that have developed or implemented innovative solutions.

Up next, PointsBet’s Chantal Cipriano and Great Canadian Entertainment’s Katie Lever will host a discussion about talent acquisition in the Canadian gambling market. The panelists will talk about how international operators looking to open offices in the country can acquire the appropriate talents and what they need to know about the talent market’s diversity to establish industry-leading inclusive workspaces.

The track’s fourth and last panel will dive into the topic of lesser-discussed verticals, such as lottery, bingo, and wagering on thoroughbred racing. Experts like Blueslate’s Sean Pinsonneault and SG Digital’s Steve Beason will talk about how the excellent growth momentum of the iGaming sector is affecting the aforementioned verticals and what their future looks like as new variations, such as iLottery, gain traction in the country.
