As a result of an investigation, the ITIA found that the player fixed six matches between 2022 and 2024, and he played in five of them. He also tried to fix six more games in the same period. According to the agency, Milićević recruited or tried to recruit other professional players into a corrupt network, and some of them went on to fix matches.

The ITIA investigated the case throughout 2026, while its officials tried to reach Milićević seven times through different channels; however, he never replied. After the inquiry, the agency sent him a Notice of Major Offence on September 24, 2026, which Milićević also ignored. The ITIA then used its deemed-sanction procedure, which led to the ban and the fine.

The ban took effect on October 9, 2026, and will run until October 8, 2050, when Milićević will have reached the age of 53. He will additionally be prohibited from playing, coaching, or attending any event run by the ITF, WTA, ATP, the four Grand Slams, or national tennis associations.

Moreover, in 2025, the ITIA banned or suspended five players in a Belgian corruption case, while one of them, Yannick Thivant, received a lifetime ban and a $75,000 fine.
