Spain sets combined deposit limits across iGaming operators

Spain’s gambling regulator has introduced deposit limits that cover a player’s activity at every licensed online operator, instead of applying at each operator separately.

Spain sets combined deposit limits across iGaming operators

Under the new rules from the Directorate General for Gambling Regulation (DGOJ), a player can deposit no more than €700 a day, €1,750 a week and €3,300 in any four-week period, counting all their accounts together. Until now, limits were set operator by operator.

Players can change or remove their limit once every three months. A change takes three business days to come into effect, and the request process includes information on the risks of gambling.

According to the regulator, one in three registered players holds active accounts with more than one operator, and this group would “particularly benefit” from the new system.

The system is in a testing phase but players can already use it. The official launch is set for March 26, 2027.

The DGOJ has also opened a player portal that shows a user’s deposits, stakes, winnings and losses across all operators in one place. Players can set up their own alerts there and manage their combined deposit limit.
