StarGames set to officially enter German market

StarGames, Greentube’s online gaming site, will be applying for a German licence in the country since new legislation will be coming into effect in July 2021.

The site, owned by Greentube Malta and known in the gaming industry as the first brand to offer the original Book of Ra title to online players in the German market, has already been present in the German market thanks to its licensed operations in Schleswig-Holstein.

The operator has recently released a landing page in light of its entry to the newly-regulated German online gaming market. Interested candidates are able to keep up with the brand’s latest news and developments using the page.

StarGames has been taking all necessary steps to offer products compatible with the recent gaming guidelines upon release. These regulations are implemented to promote social responsibility and to allow for a decrease in levels of gambling-related harm. All this preparation is to ensure a safe and legal entry to the German market. New guidelines include five-second spin intervals, a “reality check” functionality, a monthly deposit limit, stake and time limits, cooling-off periods and a ban on autoplay and progressive jackpots.

“We’re very excited about being able to fully operate in the regulated German market, and for players across the whole of Germany to be able to enjoy the fresh StarGames.” Said Trevor De Giorgio, managing director of Greentube Malta. “We proved before in Schleswig-Holstein that we have the games, the technology, the know-how and the security to offer players transparent, safe, top-quality gaming. While the new regulations certainly bring with them new challenges, we’re looking forward to once again delivering the best product and entertainment possible.”

Laszlo Pados, Greentube’s brand manager, said: “There’s still a long way to go until the German market opens next July, but we’re already working on a lot of exciting features to make sure that the new version of StarGames.de will be a true market leader in the eyes of our customers.”

StarGames has not yet announced the launch date for the new website.
