Swedish ATG appoints Anna Romboli as new CEO
Anna Romboli has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sweden’s AB Trav och Galopp (ATG).
Romboli is set to take up the role in December 2026, joining ATG from state operator Svenska Spel, where she has been supervising the company’s commercial development for six years. Romboli will replace current CEO Jörgen Forsberg, who stepped into the position just recently in February 2026 after Hasse Lord Skarplöth’s resignation.
Romboli commented on the appointment:
“I am very happy and proud to be entrusted with leading ATG. It is a company with a strong history, many committed employees, and a special significance for the Swedish horse industry. I look forward to continuing to develop the offering to our 1.4 million customers together with the employees and building on what makes ATG unique.”
Before her current position at Svenska Spel, Romboli served in senior management roles at game developer NetEnd and innovation consultancy Veryday. Alongside her current role, Romboli has also been serving as chair of the Lotteries Entertainment Innovation Alliance.
The Chair of ATG, Peter Norman, added:
“Anna has extensive experience in the gaming industry. She has shown for many years that she can develop both businesses and people. She is a leader who combines business acumen with great commitment and customer focus.”
As the new CEO, Romboli will be responsible for improving ATG’s financial performance and increasing players’ interest in horse race betting.
