Rowena Craze has officially become the Group Chief Risk Officer. She joined the company in April 2024 as Chief Audit Officer and has now transitioned into the risk leadership role.
Patrick McGlinchey, who took on the role of Interim Group Chief Legal Officer in August 2024, has now been confirmed in the position. He will control all legal and corporate governance matters.
Sarah Derry joined The Star in March 2025 and, after receiving final regulatory approvals, will begin as Chief People Officer on 1 July 2025.
Peter Meliniotis, who started as Group Technology Transformation Executive in January 2025, has now stepped into the role of Group Chief Information Officer as of 23 June 2025.
Helen Galloway has been appointed as the Independent Chair of The Star Sydney’s board for an initial three-year term, pending final approvals. She has already begun participating in board meetings as an observer.
Group CEO Steve McCann welcomed the appointments:
“I am pleased to finalise these key appointments for The Star. These appointments add to the depth of experience and talent at the Board and executive level and are a key step in The Star’s progress to suitability.”
These leadership changes support The Star’s ongoing decentralisation and stronger governance as part of its reform commitments with regulators.
