The Star Gold Coast CEO Jessica Mellor resigns

Jessica Mellor, the CEO of The Star Gold Coast, will be leaving her role with effect from the 24th of May, according to a Star announcement.

Mellor will continue to assist the business in appointing new executives and managing significant initiatives throughout her departure.

Mellor had been the COO since 2019 before being named CEO in October 2023. She was a key player in the creation of The Star Gold Coast during her time there, contributing to the two-billion-dollar project as part of a partnership.

Executive chair David Foster thanked Mellor for her accomplishments and highlighted her leadership during difficult periods like the COVID-19 pandemic. With the help of joint venture partners, he acknowledged her efforts in turning The Star Gold Coast into an exclusive integrated destination resort.

The Star Gold Coast has already started the process of hiring its new chief executive officer.  In addition, The Star is collaborating on the multibillion-dollar Queen’s Wharf Brisbane project with Chow Tai Fook and Far East Consortium, partners in a joint venture.

The development of a new hotel tower at The Star Gold Coast is one of the major projects, with an estimated cost of AU$400 million ($256 million).
