Tipico has announced the renewal of its partnership with German football club FC Bayern Munich. The German betting operator has reinforced its standing in the territory through the agreement.

This newly renewed deal will give the sports betting operator the opportunity to use the brand exposure and all the advertising and promotion chances that come with the club’s massive 75,000-seater Allianz Arena stadium, which has become a staple in local and international tv matches.

The deal was first signed in 2015, and this new renewal will last for four years, during which the operator will keep serving as the club’s platinum partner until the 2024-2025 campaigns ends. It was first supposed to expire towards the end of the current 2021-2020 season.

Marlon van der Goes, Tipico’s Chief Commercial Officer, said:

“Tipico stands for passion, trust in the team and the unconditional desire to improve every day. It is similar with FC Bayern Munich: the passion, the desire to win and quality of the team has seen this club become one of the most successful football clubs in the world. The extension of our trusted partnership is a very clear commitment to these shared values, and we are very happy about it.”

Moreover, Tipico is the leading betting operator in the country, and it has a hold on 50% of the market share. Football has been a large contributor to its success, making up over 90% of the bets that are placed, and more than 80% of the total turnover only in 2019.

Tipico’s main revenue comes from the Bundesliga, which is the top league in Germany, as well as the UEFA Champions League, then the English Premier League.

Bayern Munich Chief Executive, Karl-Heinz-Rummenigge, stated:

“We are very happy to continue this successful partnership. Tipico is the market leader in its field, and we at FC Bayern are always interested in working with the best in their respective industries. It is our ambition to always be number one – and this partner fits that bill.”
