Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) has announced the termination of its agreement with Crypto.com, under which the operator’s event contracts were set to be integrated into the Truth Social network.
The deal was first announced in October 2025 and aimed to create a digital treasury company where TMTG would have bought billions of dollars of Crypto.com’s CRO digital token. If the collaboration had materialized, users would have been able to trade contracts connected to politics, elections, inflation rates, and commodity prices.
However, the two companies will move toward a different form of partnership, with TMTG expected to serve as a marketing affiliate of Crypto.com’s prediction market contracts. According to the new agreement, the operator’s products will be promoted on Truth Social.
Interim CEO of TMTG, Kevin McGurn, said:
“Our strategic focus is to drive revenue across Truth Social, continue to build our global media business, and close the merger with TAE. This marketing agreement better aligns with our priorities and will put Crypto.com ‘s prediction market experiences in front of a highly engaged digital audience.”
McGurn also shared that the decision was made after considering that the prediction market space has already become crowded, making it less attractive for investment, although the company still sees a benefit in serving as a distributor.
After the announcement of the deal cancellation, the CRO token trading price significantly dropped to $0.05.
