UAE could expand its market with four additional casinos

Jim Murren, the Chairman of the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority, expressed that there is a possibility of having four land-based casinos in the UAE over a period of ten years.

During his talk at the Skift Global Forum East, Murren stated that the opening of two casinos inside integrated resorts would take place within five to ten years.

This figure also counts Wynn Resorts’ Wynn Al Marjan Island, which is set to be operational in 2027, standing as the first major casino development in the UAE.

The country has an impressive capacity for developing its gambling industry, with reports indicating that iGaming could also be introduced. UAE could potentially be the new regional center for integrated resorts and entertainment, with the international operators’ growing interest and a careful and regulated strategy.
