UKGC establishes new industry stakeholder forum

The UKGC has recently introduced a brand new forum for industry firms to share their views on gambling regulations.

The new forum will be one of the UKGC’s latest engagement programs for industry firms and will help the authority ensure that its regulatory efforts are evidence-led. Some of the most noteworthy groups mentioned by the UKGC that the new forum will be joining are the Lived Experience, Responsible Gambling, and Digital Advisory Boards, along with the authority’s relationships with gambling regulatory authorities and player research organizations around the world.

The newly introduced forum will predominantly focus on the areas of consultations, the regulator’s data initiatives, and account management. The UKGC will soon appoint a Chairperson for the forum to lead its efforts, along with numerous other members who will be knowledgeable about the sector and the authority’s regulatory efforts. The UKGC aims to appoint a total of around 10 members for the new forum who will represent a wide variety of industry stakeholders.

The regulator added that the hiring process will commence this month, with it being open to receiving expressions of interest to become a member of the new forum from interested industry professionals as well. Once members get selected for the forum, their details will be published by the UKGC.
