US betting companies unite: ROGA for responsible gaming

Together, the top seven sports betting companies in the US form the Responsible Online Gaming Association (ROGA).

Cooperation in addressing issues associated with problematic gambling is their primary objective. Hard Rock Digital, PENN Entertainment, Fanatics, DraftKings, BetMGM, bet365, and FanDuel are  the founding members. Collectively, these firms command over eighty percent of the United States market for licensed online gambling and sports wagering.

The association’s goals are to finance research, build a database for inter-sectoral information sharing, and enlighten participants in the market and customers about responsible gambling. In addition, they intend to launch a certification program to check how well its members adhere to responsible gambling principles.

Dr. Jennifer Shatley, a responsible gambling specialist, will lead ROGA. Her major goal will be to promote safe online gambling through collaboration with regulators, academics, and other stakeholders.

DraftKings, being one of the founding members of ROGA, has previously worked on projects related to ethical gaming. States like New Jersey are initiating public awareness campaigns as part of their efforts to combat compulsive gambling.

To keep online gamiblng safe and entertaining for all, ROGA and its members work to strengthen consumer safeguards and make it simpler for individuals to access resources for ethical gambling.
