Wynn Resorts reserves land for potential second UAE resort

Wynn Resorts and its partners have reserved land in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, for a potential second integrated resort, according to a report from Arabian Gulf Business Insight (AGBI).

At the moment, Wynn Resorts is working on its Wynn Al Marjan Island project, which will be the first casino resort in the UAE. The company currently holds the country’s only gaming licence, giving it exclusive rights in the market for now. The resort is scheduled to open by 2027.

AGBI reported that the agreement mentions a second integrated resort site measuring 593,870 square feet, with another 892,306 square feet planned through land reclamation. The document also names Wynn as the exclusive operator, should a casino be developed on the plot.

Michael Weaver, Wynn’s chief communications officer, reportedly commented:

“No decisions would be made on plans for the second plot until after the opening of its first property in 2027.”

The news comes from a shareholders’ agreement that was filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission back in February.
