AGCO awarded for regulatory excellence by NAGRA
The NAGRA has recently awarded AGCO for its gambling regulatory efforts.
The regulator’s award was announced at the North American Gambling Regulators Association’s annual event in Idaho, where the AGCO was praised for its efforts in the development and deployment of its gambling regulation framework. The award recognized the performance of the regulator and Ontario’s regulated gambling market, along with the excellent consumer protection and choice it offers to local players.
Back in April, the AGCO conducted a study with the aim of finding out what portion of Ontarian players enjoyed the gambling pastime on regulated websites. The survey revealed that the majority of respondents that gambled in the three months leading up to the study did so with regulated operators, which was a major jump compared to the results of a prior survey that was conducted when the market had just opened.
This standout performance was one of the major contributing factors to the regulator’s latest international prize, which follows a previous reward AGCO received back in October of 2022 from the International Association of Gaming Regulators.
“The Ontarian regulated gambling industry’s first year has been quite successful, as we have managed to convert the majority of local gamblers to regulated sites, which there are now more than 75 of in the province, giving consumers a lot of safe gambling options. We would not have been able to achieve this success without the cooperation of our licensees and the strong leadership of Ontario’s Finance Minister and Attorney General.”
commented the CEO of AGCO, Tom Mungham.
